New Bond girl Gemma Arterton has revealed her boyfriend is “wary” about her landing the coveted part in Quantum Of Solace.

Gemma, who has been cast alongside Ukranian Olga Kurylenko in the latest Bond installation, said: “He’s wary of it. Who wouldn’t be? But I love him very much and I am not interested in anyone else.

“I’d only been working professionally for six months when I got the part, so it still doesn’t feel real. That’s why I wasn’t nervous on the first day. It felt like a game.”

Gemma, speaking at a launch day for the movie, said the screen test was “petrifying”, adding: “There were 60 people, all with their eyes on me, muttering to each other ‘Could she be the next Bond girl?’

“It’s great. I grew up watching Bond and it’s still a huge part of British film making to some extent.

“My grandkids will be able to say to each other that their grandmother was a Bond girl. ‘Look at her now, you could never know’.”

Gemma was told to audition for the role after film producers watched her on stage in a Shakespeare play.
