She may work in one of the world’s most body conscious industries, but Gemma Arterton is fast becoming a poster girl for curvier women.

A size 10, actress Gemma has made a point of stating that she has no intention of shedding her womanly curves.

And as she arrived on the red carpet for the premiere of her new film last night it was clear to see that she has stuck to her word.

Gemma Arterton attended the premiere of The Disappearance Of Alice Creed during the Times BFI 53rd London Film Festival at the Vue West End this Saturday. She looked gorgeous as usual and very voluptuous.

It’s been nearly two years since the film’s release in the UK, but the remake of St. Trinian’s has finally arrived in theaters stateside. Set in an unruly girls’ school, the film stars a laundry list of British film actors like Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, Russell Brand, Stephen Fry, Gemma Arterton, Talulah Riley, Tamsin Egerton, Juno Temple, Lena Headey and Jodie Whittaker. Mischa Barton also makes a brief cameo.

The St. Trinian’s franchise has a long history in British pop culture. In the 1940s, illustrator Ronald Searle created the St. Trinian’s cartoon series about a fictional girls’ school constantly teetering on the edge of anarchy. Those cartoons became celebrated films in the 1950s, starting with The Belles of St. Trinian’s in 1954. Comic actor Alistair Sim played the school headmistress Miss Fritton (in full drag) and her brother Clarence.

The upcoming Clash of the Titans remake promises to be a truly epic, unashamed creature feature. This time, Perseus is going to take down Mount Olympus itself…

GALLERY LINKS:
- Clash of the Titans (2010): Production Stills –> Perseus’ band of brothers plus Io trek through a desolate wasteland — in real life, Wales (yes, the very first Gemma still from Clash of the Titans!!! — also featured are Sam Worthington, fellow Tess of the D’Urbervilles co-star Hans Matheson and Mads Mikkelsen; I also believe that’s Nicholas Hoult right behind Gemma)
- Clash of the Titans (2010): Empire (UK) – November 2009
- Clash of the Titans (2010): Behind The Scenes – 2009
- Prince of Persia (2010): SciFi Now (UK) – Issue 32
- Scans: Filmstar (UK) – October 2009

Big thanks to Lorna for the scans! :D
