Two snippets from the January 2010 issue of Empire, thanks to Lorna! I’ve also redid the teaser trailer captures for “Clash of the Titans” and the international trailer caps for “Prince of Persia” in much better quality.
Caps from the trailer and of Gemma interviewing you for the ‘Entrance Exam’ of St Trinian’s at the Official Site.

We’ve also added a few Prince of Persia icons I made, for use on Livejournal, message boards, etc.
Sir Michael Caine, the actor, has called for a return to national service to give young people ”a sense of belonging rather than a sense of violence”.
As he walked the red carpet at the European premiere of his new movie Harry Brown, the British actor addressed the problem of violence among disaffected youths.
Sir Michael, who did two years of national service and served in the Korean War, stressed he was ”very anti-war” but added: ”I’m just saying put them in the army for six months. You’re there to learn how to defend your country. You belong to the country.
And another interview. It’s actually not that different from the Comingsoon.net one.
Prince of Persia star Gemma Arterton discusses playing Princess Tamina in the videogame adaptation, working opposite Daniel Craig and Sir Ben Kingsley, and her ambitions to be a stuntwoman.
Q: So how does it feeling going from Bond to this?
Gemma Arterton: I did the The Boat that Rocked in between which was completely detached from anything kind of action or fairytaley, which was nice, and then I went back into it. But in Bond my part’s not really… it doesn’t really have any action, whereas in this I have a lot. It’s a real full-on action role, although she’s a high priestess so she’s not your typical kind of gun-wielding [heroine]. She’s very spiritual, so it’s an interesting take to have someone that’s action-driven but that has got religious beliefs. It’s an interesting character.
Gemma Arterton, who plays Prince of Persia’s Princess Tamina, is certainly one of Britain’s up and coming actresses, having played a small but memorable role as Agent Strawberry Fields in the last James Bond movie Quantum of Solace. In the year since that movie came out (and we did the following interview), she’s been super busy to the point where she followed “Prince of Persia” with the equally large-scale epic Clash of the Titans will be coming out just two months before this movie, which she filmed six months earlier.
During this set visit, ComingSoon.net had a chance to sit down with Gemma on Day One, well before the rest of the cast and before we had a good idea what the movie was about.
Before Hollywood releases movies, they show the films to test audiences to see what they think. If the test audiences hate the picture, changes will be made. If not, then everything’s gravy. How did the Prince of Persia screening fair?
According to film producer Jerry Bruckheimer, the movie is screening great — no, better than great. Greater than great! Says the producer, “What we found when we tested the movie a few weeks ago, and it tested extraordinarily high which surprised me because I always think these things are going to fail but this one turned out great; the women were a surprise because I thought we made a terrific movie for the boys because the girl is beautiful but the women flipped over this film.”
Continuing, he adds, “I’ve never had a score where the parents, there is violence, too, because it’s PG-13, but the parents rated the film a hundred percent with an excellent or very good which has never happened before. So it’s one of these movies that we know they’ll take their children to go see it which is a huge advantage for a film, that parents can say, ‘Hey, it’s cool. My kid can see it.’”
Another trailer has been released, with new scenes and dialogue – watch it here on YouTube!! Screencaps about to follow.
Bit of trivia: The score at the start is from the King Arthur (2004) soundtrack, another Jerry Bruckheimer production.
UPDATE: Screencaps from the trailer and three new stills I’ve snagged from the official site!
Gemma Arterton gets a breath of fresh air in between shooting scenes in her first major starring role. Gemma, who trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, plays a woman who transforms her looks – and her life – as she searches for that most desired thing: love.
The fast-rising actress plays the eponymous Tamara Drewe in Stephen Frears’s new film, which has been shooting on locations in West Dorset and London.
