Posing in suspenders and high heels, Bond girl Gemma Arterton insists…’I look really average’
She won an army of male admirers when she played Strawberry Fields in the hit 007 film Quantum Of Solace. But Gemma Arterton thinks she was ‘not hot enough’ to play a Bond girl and that she is ‘really average’.
Her fans may disagree – and these pictures of her posing in stockings, stilettos and a coat for the latest edition of GQ magazine make her look anything but plain.
The outfit is reminiscent of her chase scene through the streets of Panama with Bond actor Daniel Craig, when she wore nothing except a mac and boots.
But, in an interview with GQ magazine, she said: ‘In comparison to many actresses I think I’m really average. When I got the Bond film there was this big hoo-ha about me not being hot enough. I have to say, I agree. I don’t think I’m in that realm.’

Entertainment Weekly might have been disappointing Gemma-wise, but UK’s Empire makes up for that. They revealed two new posters for the movie today, one of them being of our stunning Gemma. And they promise more in their September issue.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is one of next year’s big summer movies, so a few new posters showing the lovely Jake Gyllenhaal and the gorgeous Gemma Arterton are just the thing to bring a touch of sunshine to this otherwise cloudy day.
Based on the massively popular series of videogames, the story sees Gyllenhaal as a ‘rogue prince’ Dastan and Gemma Arterton as ‘mysterious princess’ Tamina, who reluctantly team up to safeguard an ancient dagger that could release the Sands of Time, allowing its possessor to reverse time and rule the world.
Also starring Sir Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina, directed by Mike Newell, and out on May 28, 2010, you’ll need to set expectations to “epic” for this one.

Be sure to check out this week’s Entertainment Weekly! It promises an exclusive ‘first look’ at Gemma’s Prince of Persia – read more about it here. No mention of Gemma or her character, but we hope they’ll have something on her too.
UPDATE: The article and pic in the issue is the same as on their website – sadly no Gemma at all.

We have now added 86 pictures from the big night. Tomorrow I’m sure we’ll have some interviews as they get published so stay tuned.
Gemma chose a regal Balmain Spring/Summer 2009 purple gown for the world Royal premiere of the new James Bond movie Quantum Of Solace which was held in Leicester Square, London. She was showing off her long limbs – the girl must have been cold but it’s worth it don’t you think?! On the red carpet she later bundled up in a coat talking to reporters, she said “I’d show it off [outfit] to your properly, but it’s a bit chilly.” Gemma was wearing Miu Miu, white diamond butterfly earrings, a white diamond bombé ring and a white diamond lace bracelet – all iconic pieces from GRAFF Diamonds.
Prior to Gemma meeting Princes William and Harry at the premiere, she said “I can’t wait to meet them, I’m real excited!”

I have added scans from the November issues of CosmoGirl (Scarlett Johansson on the cover) and Teen Vogue (Rachel Bilson on the cover). I especially enjoyed these brief articles and their cute pics. In Teen Vogue, Gemma dishes on beauty secrets (and a there is a new Bond still). And In Cosmo Girl Gemma talks about her love for London and reveals she’d like to work with Joaquin Phoenix – “… he’s a brilliant actor – and really hot!”.
I also scanned the US print advert for Avon. It’s the same as before, in fact it’s identical to the first one we ever showed you but now it’s in HQ.
