Climate Week is happening right now, and to raise awareness and funds, Tesco has rounded up a group of stylish models, actors and singers – including Lily Cole, Gemma Arterton and Jade Parfitt – to model an exclusive organic and ethically produced geometric-print T-shirt.
All profits from the £10 limited edition design by British fashion design duo Eley Kishimoto, will be donated to the Environmental Justice Foundation.
Eley Kishimoto, who describe themselves as “the patron saints of print”, have said the T-shirt design incorporates the ‘tree of life’ which “represents nature and reminds us to look towards a positive future.”
“Low-carbon and supercool, the T-shirt captures the spirit of Climate Week by showing how we can all be part of the solution to climate change,” Climate Week’s Phil Drew said, “an item that’s as green as its message and doesn’t cost the earth”.
A cheap and quirky addition to your daywear, with the added satisfaction of aiding a charitable cause? How fashionable!
Climate Week T-shirts are available exclusively at Tesco stores and online here.

A few weeks ago Vice Magazine’s Style team headed to New York to attend the G-Star Autumn/Winter 2011 show at New York Fashion Week where they had the pleasure of meeting Gemma Arterton, their new ambassador.
Vice’s latest film fashion film gives viewers a unique look at G-Star’s Metropolitan Explorer inspired NY RAW Autumn/Winter 2011 show, featuring their high-end 3D denim collection, and includes backstage interviews with Gemma Arterton, Rosario Dawson and Jared Leto.
Vice Style discovered that Gemma Arterton’s assured, independent style and authentic femininity perfectly embody the modern G-Star woman and underscore the theme of RAW Elegance. Gemma told us: ‘I feel like a tough girl in a fancy frock sometimes, and I think G-Star is the same. I like the contradiction between glamour and durability. Sometimes people are shocked when they meet me because of this contradiction.’ Read the rest of this entry »

She’s regularly seen in the front row at fashion shows, and is courted by all the top designers. So it is surprising that Gemma Arterton’s campaign for G-Star Raw is her first.
But it has been worth the wait, as the actress, 25, looks every inch the star in behind-the-scenes photographs from the denim brand’s latest shoot.
Dressed in a tailored denim jacket, dark jeans and printed headscarf she cam be seen laughing with the director and crew on the Marseilles set. Read the rest of this entry »

Gemma Arterton hasn’t got time to wear anything “fancy”.
The stunning British actress – who recently became the face of clothing label G-Star – says her style is quite simple and dresses in practical clothes to suit her busy lifestyle.
Speaking at the star-studded G-Star RAW party in London last month in an exclusive video for BANG Showbiz, Gemma said of her look: “For me it’s kind of simple really. I don’t really go for anything too embellished or fancy or frilly or girly and it has to be easy because I haven’t got time for anything that’s too difficult! Read the rest of this entry »

Bond girl and Prince of Persia actress Gemma Arteton is having a fantastic start to 2011 as it’s just been announced that she is the new face of G-Star denim plus she is nominated for this year’s BAFTA Rising Star award.
It’s just three years since she was at drama school and most people are dying to find out is she’s changed since we first saw her as a sweet natured girl in the St Trinian’s films.
Also, how has her style changed? Find out all this in Very’s Five Minute Interview with Gemma below:
QS: Has your style has changed as your profile has grown?

Gemma Arterton has signed up to be the new face of G-Star.
The former Bond girl will feature in the upcoming spring/summer 2011 campaign, which has been shot by iconic photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn.
“I feel like a tough girl in a fancy frock sometimes, and I think G-Star is the same,” she said.
“I like the contradiction between glamour and durability. Sometimes people are shocked when they meet me because of this contradiction.”
It’s another achievement for Gemma, who graduated from Rada three years ago.
Since appearing in James Bond: Quantum Of Solace the stunning actress, who is up for the Orange Bafta Rising Star award, has made her name in blockbusters like Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time and Clash Of The Titans, as well as indie films Tamara Drewe and The Disappearance Of Alice Creed.

Gemma Arterton sure looks good in denim!
The British Clash of the Titans star has been named the face of G-Star’s spring/summer 2011 global advertising campaign — and UsMagazine.com has your first look at Arterton’s sexy shots.
“I’ve always loved the G-Star campaigns and am really, really thrilled to work with the brand,” the actress tells Us in a statement. “The brand is ultra-modern, cool and quite unusual. It’s very different to any jean brand. It’s very edgy, raw and fresh.”
Shot by photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn, Arterton says she loved the rock ‘n’ roll vibe of the shoot.
“If I wasn’t an actress I’d probably be an opera singer or a rock star,” she tells Us. “I’ve always said I’m a rock star trapped inside an actress’s body.”
So what made the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time actress decide to partner up with the iconic clothing brand?
“G-Star came to me and approached me about working with them. I’ve always loved the brand’s edgy and raw character and the unique, strong campaigns that Anton shot,” Arterton explains. “G-Star women are portrayed as self-confident and strong but always feminine and elegant. This matches how I am and how I like to be perceived and made me very positive about working with them.”
The former Bond girl — who said wed Italian fashion manager Stefano Catelli last June — tells Us that modeling the brand’s latest fashions has been a dream come true.
“Besides the fact I like G-Star’s raw, refreshing and edgy style, for me it’s essential that what G-Star values — being authentic, self-confident and independent — are things I value myself very much as well,” she explains. “I would never collaborate with a brand that has no match with my own personality or I don’t get excited about.”
