Tonight I have a special treat for all of you Gemma, Thomas Hardy and Tess fans out there: 22 new stills from the TV series!!! You’ll be able to have a glimpse of the opening scene with the spring parade (which was filmed on the clifftop at Dancing Ledge, near Swanage), the country girl with her family and with Alec (played by Hans Matheson).
The Scottish actor has also talked about the upcoming BBC series and our girl Gemma in an interview for today’s Glasgow Sunday Mail:
“I play the villain of the piece Alec D’Urberville, which is good because I generally play saints and do-gooders.

Sony Pictures Netherlands reveals date for trailer #2.
According to a report at 007 Nederland, a date has been announced for the second Quantum of Solace trailer.
While specific details remain yet to be announced, a Sony Pictures Netherlands employee has stated that the new trailer will be revealed on 11 September.
This second Quantum of Solace trailer is expected by several James Bond fans to be the longer theatrical trailer, providing a more indepth glimpse into the film than June’s teaser trailer did.
In comparison, the theatrical trailer for Daniel Craig’s debut 007 film, Casino Royale, was released on 7 September of 2006.

Lost In Austen is billed as an “ingenious reinvention” of the much-loved novel Pride and Prejudice.
It stars Jemima Rooper as Amanda Price, a modern Londoner with a boring bank job who loses herself in the pages of Pride and Prejudice each night.
One day she finds the novel’s heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, standing in her bathroom. A secret doorway leads from there to the Bennet household, and the two women swap lives.

Now that the next Harry Potter installment won’t be opening at Thanksgiving, Sony and MGM have jumped on the chance to bow its Bond pic Quantum of Solace a week later than planned.
Solace will be released on Nov. 14 instead of Nov. 7.
Bond titles have traditionally opened the weekend before Thanksgiving, but Sony didn’t want to open too close to Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, so it originally settled on Nov. 7.
But the landscape changed last week when Warners announced it was pushing back Half-Blood Prince from Nov. 21 to July. (Studio made the move to even out its slate considering the gargantuan success of The Dark Knight.)
Summit Entertainment was the first to respond by moving Catherine Hardwicke’s vampire pic Twilight to Nov. 21.
“We believe Nov. 14 is a great date that allows us to play straight through Thanksgiving and right into Christmas,” said Jeff Blake, Sony chairman of worldwide marketing and distribution. “We believe this decision will give the public a wider opportunity to see the film over the holiday.”

Princes William and Harry will be among the first to see the latest James Bond film when the world premiere is held in London later this year, the producers have announced.
Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli also revealed that Quantum of Solace will be screened on October 29 at the Odeon cinema in Leicester Square.
The royal brothers have asked for proceeds from the event to benefit two charities, Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion.
Stars of the 22nd 007 adventure, including Daniel Craig - who plays Bond - Dame Judi Dench and Gemma Arterton, will also attend the premiere.
Directed by Marc Forster, the film will be released in cinemas around the country and worldwide from October 31 by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Wilson and Broccoli said: “We are thrilled Prince William and Prince Harry have agreed to attend the world premiere of our latest James Bond film, and are pleased this event will help raise much needed funds to support the servicemen of our country through the Princes’ chosen charities.”

The four-part drama Lost in Austen, starring Gemma Arterton as Elizabeth, will air on ITV1 in September. Lost in Austen is billed as an “ingenious reinvention” of the much-loved novel and owes more than a little inspiration to BBC hit Life On Mars.

Very disappointing news!
Walt Disney Pictures has moved the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time out of its June 19, 2009 release date spot (which would have been a week before Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is opening) and has pushed it back almost a year to May 28, 2010, which is the week after Shrek Goes Fourth is scheduled and a week before Marvel Studios’ Thor.
With Memorial Day being observed on May 31, 2010, the movie would have a four day opening, unless it debuts earlier in the week.
The Mike Newell-directed video game adaptation stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Alfred Molina and Ben Kingsley. Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a young prince in sixth century Persia who must join forces with Tamina (Arterton), a feisty and exotic princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.

Bond girl Gemma Arterton was “in a daze” when she filmed her sex scene with Daniel Craig.
The British actress - who plays Agent Fields in new 007 movie Quantum of Solace - found it surreal to get hot and steamy with the hunky star, who plays the suave spy.
She said: “I felt like a giggly girl because Daniel is such a man. I have to admit I was in a bit of a dream, a daze, when I filmed my love scene with Bond!”
Gemma recently revealed Daniel had to wear heeled shoes to make him taller than her when they were shooting several scenes.

According to his new co-star Gemma Arterton in the latest film, Quantum of Solace, the 40-year-old star was forced to boost his stature with stacked shoes when she was wearing stilettos.
In the past, he has been known to be touchy about his vital statistics, snapping at one enquiring interviewer that he was “somewhere between 5ft and 6ft.”
But the loyal Miss Arterton, 22, insisted he had taken the producers’ decision “with good humour”.

I think it is fair to say that Gemma Arterton is fast becoming the hardest working film actress in the biz at the moment!
As you may notice the updated sidebar as well as the filmography, Gemma has yet another new film in the works! That is Richard Curtis’s The Boat That Rocked, which is currently being filmed. The cast includes Philip Seymour Hoffman, Emma Thompson, Bill Nighy and Kenneth Branagh so Gemma’s indeed in a very good company here! Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time is in pre-production and will begin this month.

Guy Ritchie is back in his old stomping ground with RocknRolla. The Lock, Stock… and Snatch director has returned to the world of dodgy dealers, shady scams and back-stabbing that made his name, with a story of a tale of Russian mobsters running amok in the Big Smoke.
Featuring Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton, Jeremy Piven, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tom Wilkinson, The Wire’s Idris Elba and Gemma Arterton amongst the cast, the film is out on 5th September but Empire has the world exclusive look at the first trailer for you right here, right now.

The first teaser trailer for the new James Bond film Quantum of Solace will makes its debut online at the end of the month.
A German fan site received confirmation from Sony Pictures that the trailer will be launched on Yahoo! on Monday 30th June at 17:00 BST (British Summer Time). Viewing will be exclusively at Yahoo for the first 24 hours.
Running for 1 minute 51 seconds, the trailer will be the first real look at how Daniel Craig’s second outing as 007 is shaping up. The film is released in the UK on 31st October 2008, with many countries following the week after.
Columbia Pictures, who distribute the film, have named the submitted reel “TRAILER A”, indicating that this is just the first teaser. In recent years, Bond films have used a teaser in the summer and a full length theatrical trailer in the fall closer to the time of release.
Sony will be attaching the new 007 preview to their summer tent-pole release Hancock, starring Will Smith and Charlize Theron. Hancock will debut on July 2nd for the holiday weekend in the USA.
