Gemma Arterton | Binding Truths
The London It-Girl Won’t Mince Words

We are in a French café on the King’s Road in London and the 24-year-old is early. Surprising for an actress, no? “Actually, I’ve just walked my husband to work,” she smiles. “He’s a sales manager at a fashion company near here.” In a beige t-shirt and black harem pants, but without a scrap of make-up, Arterton’s look is more fashionable London media-type than Hollywood starlet. Money may not be everything, but it counts for a lot in Hollywood. That is why Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is already deemed a disappointment and is now looking for its audience in the home entertainment market.
Prince of Persia cost $60 million more to make and earned hundreds of million less in worldwide box office than Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. The comparisons are appropriate because both are Jerry Bruckheimer productions, both are rollicking adventures, both are as funny as they are fun, and both sprang from unlikely sources. Pirates started as a carnival ride at Disney theme parks. Prince of Persia was inspired by Jordan Mechner’s video game. Read the rest of this entry »

A TIGHT red top and a tiny pair of hotpants gave gorgeous Gemma Arterton her sexiest entrance since she was a Bond girl.
It’s an unforgettable moment in her new film Tamara Drewe – and has even been used on the movie’s poster.
The film has only been released in France but is already a huge hit.
But Gemma, who starred alongside 007 Daniel Craig in Quantum Of Solace, says she’ll remember the sexy scene as one of her most uncomfortable.
“I’m such a prude,” laughs Britain’s rising star. Read the rest of this entry »

We’ve seen Gemma Arterton in two big budget productions this year alone, Clash of the Titans and Prince of Persia, and though neither represent what she’s capable of as an actress, she’ll be back for more. During a chat about her upcoming film, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, Arterton revealed that her role in Clash 2 is likely to be small, and even admitted which of the two blockbusters she liked better.
She confirmed that she’ll appear in the Clash sequel, but didn’t really sound all that enthusiastic about either the movie itself or her contractually obligated role in it:
“I don’t really know what the story is going to be. I think they’re writing it at the moment and they’re going to get back to us, but I don’t think I’m in it much the next movie, which is kind of good.” She added, “It’s going because it was a real success in the box office so they’re going to make another one.”
In case you were wondering, Gemma Arterton’s wedding gown was designed by Peter Langner.
