We want to wish you all a Happy New Year – and as a goodbye to 2009 we’ve assembled our personal ‘Best of Gemma’.

Best News: Gemma receiving her very first acting award as Best Newcomer at the Empire Awards 2009. And the fact that she’s signed for many interesting movie offers and that she’s going to make her West End debut in 2010.

Worst News: Prince of Persia being postponed to 2010. And Peter Webber leaving the Wuthering Heights project. We don’t know if Gemma will still be on the project once the new director is cast.

Most Anticipated Gemma Release for 2010: The Disappearance of Alice Creed which will open in the UK in March 2010. Gemma (and the film itself) has been receiving great reviews and Alice Creed is said to be Gemma’s best on-screen role to date. Clash of the Titans. We love Greek mythology! And Prince of Persia – the banter between Dastan and Tamina in the trailer looks like it’ll be highly entertaining.
(Yes, we know that covers almost everything set to be released in 2010 so far. But we’re fans, after all. )

I want to say goodbye to Gemma Online and wish Sarika the best of luck with her other projects! She can be found @ Keira Knightley Fan, Katie McGrath Source, Lucy Griffiths Online, Rachel Hurd-Wood Web and Long Ago Captures.

Mel decided to close her fansite Gemma Arterton Central which she ran along with Dee. I want to say goodbye to this fellow Gemma fansite and wish the webmistresses good luck in their other projects. You can still find Mel @ Emmy Rossum Fan, Leonor Varela Web and Emma Lung Online. And, if I’m not mistaken, Dee can be found at the Original Gemma Arterton LJ Community.

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably noticed that we have a brand new header! While I loved the last one, it was time for a change. And the responsible for this fabulous fresh new look is the talented Laura! Thank you so much dear! I hope you all love it as much as I do!

Affilitating with other HQ and updated sites is fun and also a very nice way to promote fansites, or exchanging scans/photos/info or maybe even making online friendships. But… if you apply for affiliation and are accepted, you’re expected to link back, right? While going through Gemma Arterton Online’s affiliates yesterday, I noticed that some sites weren’t linking back and they have been listed here for weeks, months. So it’s not like the webmasters didn’t have enough time to update their affiliates. All sites that weren’t linking back were removed from our list of affiliates. You can, however, apply again if you think that things will work out this time. Thanks for understanding.

You may have been aware that for the last week the site was down, which was totally beyond our control. All we can do is apologise for any inconvenience. But fear not because Gemma-Arterton.net is here to stay and isn’t going anywhere. Thank you for the continued support, contributions and visits.

Happy holidays, Merry Christmas and fabulous New Year 2009 to all of our visitors! We really love working on the site and appreciate your support a lot. We can’t wait to see what 2009 will bring to Gemma – and you can be sure that we’ll be here to cover it every step of the way.

We have put up a new layout here at Gemma Arterton Online to celebrate all of Gemma’s wonderful recent and upcoming projects. It was designed by the super talented Ronie of SLO Designs and coded up by myself. We really hope you like it as much as we do!

Tess pleads with her husband Angel to return to her in the last in the BBC’s four-part adaptation of Tess of the D’Urbervilles.

Tragic Tess Durbeyfield – played by ex-Bond girl Gemma Arterton – writes to Angel Clare (Eddie Redmayne), begging him to come back to her, but he has been struck down by a dangerous fever while away in Brazil.

Meanwhile, predatory Alec D’Urberville (Hans Matheson) will not give up his relentless pursuit of Tess.

Will Tess ever see Angel again and find happiness at last?
