MTV learned this weekend from producer Jerry Bruckheimer that the first poster art you’ll see for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will be in Bruckheimer’s new comedy, “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” starring Isla Fisher and opening February 13:
Mega-Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has hidden the poster inside his latest film, “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” appearing as a Times Square advertisement about halfway into the film. It joins posters for a number of other Bruckheimer productions, including the upcoming “G-Force,” though “Persia” is unique in that it marks the first time the film’s artwork has been seen anywhere.
Prominently featured on the poster is lead actor Jake Gyllenhaal in full-costume as Prince Dastan.
Producer Akiva Goldsman did something similar in “I Am Legend,” in which you saw a pretend poster for “Batman vs. Superman,” but these are of course real projects coming up.
The Mike Newell-directed “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” scheduled for a May 28, 2010 release co-stars Gemma Arterton, Alfred Molina, Ben Kingsley and Toby Kebbell. It is based on Ubisoft’s popular video game.
