Martin Compston mentioned The Disappearance of Alice Creed in a recent interview for the Daily Record:
The previous five months, however, lacked such domestic niceties, stuck on the Isle on Man filming with Bond Girl Gemma Arterton, and Eddie Marsan in the tense kidnap thriller The Disappearance of Alice Creed.
Martin says: “We were working ridiculous hours on a really dark script, getting up in the middle of the night.
But whenever it started to get to me I’d think of Stacey (his long-term girlfriend Stacey McKelvie) and how hard her job is, teaching a class of 30 kids every day. Things like that keep you grounded.”
Eddie Marsan, whose most recent role was in C4’s Red Road, joins Martin and Gemma Arterton in a tale of two kidnappers who carry out an immaculately planned kidnap, having targeted rich girl Arterton. But the tense situation unravels as the heist continues and the characters reveal an agenda that ends in a power play of greed, love, sex and violence.
