Gemma Arterton has ditched her bob look by having hair extensions.

But fans of the actress needn’t worry that she is going for the WAG look – she has simply lengthened her hair for a film role.

The Quantum Of Solace beauty, 23, is currently filming her part as ancient Greek priestess Io in the upcoming blockbuster Clash Of The Titans.

Taking time off from filming, the Kent-born star was spotted with her multi-tonal extensions as she enjoyed an evening at the theatre.

Dressed formally in a white blouse and waistcoat, Gemma looked dramatically different from the glamorous brunette with the bobbed hair at the premiere of her last movie The Boat That Rocked two months ago.

Gemma appears alongside a host of stars in the upcoming movie, including Liam Neeson as Zeus, Ralph Fiennes as Hades and Sam Worthington as Perseus.

While Gemma has kept her bobbed hair in many movies, she has been forced to get hair extensions for numerous roles.

Last year, she wore them for her role as Tess in the BBC TV adaptation of Tess Of The D’Urbervilles.

At the time, she said: ‘Hair extensions made me feel really girly and vulnerable.

‘I never get recognised. I think it’s because my hair keeps changing all the time. People never know it’s me.’

She is also likely to need extensions again when she starts filming the new Wuthering Heights movie adaptation.

Gemma will play Cathy to Gossip Girl heart-throb Ed Westwick’s Heathcliff in the latest version of the Emily Brontë classic novel in a film set for release next year.
