After a successful 2008 Gemma Arterton was another actress we had our eye on when 2009 kicked off and her success looks set to continue into the new year.

She has mixed and matched her roles this year with Richard Curtis’ return to the director’s chair The Boat That Rocked.

She returned to the big screen last week with St. Trinian’s II: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold as Kelly Jones.

But the big budget blockbusters beckon for the actress as she stars in one of the early must see movies of the year Clash of the Titans.

Starring alongside Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson the movie follows the mortal son of the god Zeus embarks on a perilous journey to stop the underworld and its minions from spreading their evil to Earth as well as the heavens.

And it’s the blockbusters all the way this summer as Prince of Persia: Sands of Time hits the big screen which sees Arterton team up with Jake Gyllenhaal.
