GEMMA ARTERTON is brutally stripped, gagged and bound in her new flick The Disappearance of Alice Creed.

But the Bond girl said laughing at the barbarity helped her deal with the humiliating scenes.

The Brit actress said: “The worse thing is if you make a big deal out of something. Everybody on set is feeling pretty rubbish as well, so the best thing to do is make it fun. I know it sounds ridiculous.

“(Laughing) really is the best thing because it makes it so much easier on set when they shout cut and I laugh, ‘I just p***ed in a bucket!'”

Gemma added: “Of course as an actor you think, ‘Do I want to do that? Do I want to put myself through that?

“But it was actually quite rewarding, I’ve done a lot of action movies but sometimes you want a bit of grit.”

The film follows two men who kidnap a millionaire’s daughter in exchange for a large ransom.

St Trinian’s star Gemma said: “I had this ball-gag in and I was like, ‘Do it up tight,’ trying to be all method.

“But it was actually starting to cut into my skin so we had to stop.

“And (when I was handcuffed) I would overly struggle and hurt my wrists.”

Co-star MARTIN COMPSTON said: “It’s a massive credit to Gemma.

“We’d only met a week before and we’ve got to do some pretty awkward stuff. She had every right to be distraught between takes – but she was laughing all the time.”

The Disappearance of Alice Creed hits screens on April 30.
