Arterton fancies herself as a bit of a country girl.
The British actress fell in love with the countryside while filming Tamara Drewe in Dorset but says she’s likely to keep her feet on concrete rather than be knee deep in mud.
“I didn’t grow up in the world of Tamara Drewe — very much the opposite,” says Gemma.
“But I love that area of Dorset. Although I’m a city girl, I do miss it. That part of the world is just beautiful.
“I always fancy myself as someone who will move there one day but I know I never will. I’ll just be in the city.”
Gemma recently revealed that she hides in toilets to escape her fans.
“I grew up in a town that’s not that far away from London at all, but not the countryside, and I went home two weeks ago for a visit,” she said.
“I went to a restaurant and people kind of recognize you more when you are from there. It is kind of weird. And they idolize you and put you on a pedestal.
“In London I think everyone is preoccupied with their own lives to even care. But it is weird going back to your hometown. Unlike [character in new movie Tamara Drewe] I just go and hide in the toilet. Tamara goes and puts on some hot pants!”
