Actress Gemma Arterton has said she is ‘thrilled’ to be one of the five actors shortlisted for this year’s BAFTA Rising Star Award.
The 24-year-old is up against Tom Hardy, Aaron Johnson, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield.
According to British newspaper the London Evening Standard, the Tamara Drewe star said: ‘I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be one of the shortlisted actors for the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award. 2010 was an incredible year for me and to be recognised in this way by both my peers and the film-going public is amazing.
‘I’m in very good company with the other actors who have been nominated, so it is a huge compliment to be considered to win this prestigious award.’
The winner of the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award is set to be announced at the BAFTAs on February 13.
