Gemma Arterton, nominated for the Bafta Rising Star award, has shed a stone thanks to gruelling daily sessions of Bikram yoga.

The 25-year-old ex-Bond girl has been doing the sauna-style yoga in 104F (40C) heat.

A pal said: ‘Gemma is incredibly flexible and has somehow managed to whittle down her waist and thighs while retaining her curves.

‘She’s been agonising over what to wear for the Baftas. She’s only a size eight, but in Hollywood terms that’s big and she can’t fit into a sample size six.’

Kent-born Gemma, who married fashionista Stefano Catelli, 37, last June, refuses to diet.

She said last year: ‘The only way I could ever be a size six is if I didn’t eat. I’m not naturally meant to be that size.’
