Gemma Arterton reckons humans can learn a lot from turtles.

The 25-year-old actress will lend her voice to animated feature, A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures, alongside fellow native Dominic Cooper. The movie tells the story of Sammy the sea turtle, who searches the ocean for his one true love. The pair believes much can be garnered from the life of turtles, as their loyalty and contentment are an example to all.

“These three turtles who grow up together, and have these long lives and have these long relationships; it’s kind of beautiful actually. We should be more like that as humans. You know, they’re very devoted to each other and never stray, something we could definitely learn from…I think that’s a lovely message for kids,” Gemma told the BBC.

Dominic, who is mostly known for his roles in Mamma Mia! and The Duchess, concurred with his co-star, revealing he was also touched by the movie’s underlying message. He though, felt the similarities between man and animal was too similar to be ignored.

“What stuck out for me was this beautiful image of just sharing experiences with someone else throughout your life and that’s what’s moving between human and animal companionship,” he added.
