As she arrived at the Today Show studios Gemma Arterton was looking every inch the sophisticated lady but the actress soon revealed she loved playing a ‘tough girl’ on screen.

The 27-year-old actress was dressed to impress in a smart grey coat and a pair of nude Nicholas Kirkwood heels as she arrived ahead of the show.

As as she stepped out on stage Gemma showed off her curvaceous shape in a plunging black dress with lace detail around the bust.

Speaking to Matt about her role the British actress admitted her role in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters interested her because of the action-packed scenes.

She said: ‘It was really attractive to me to play a tough girl I have a lot of action. I get beaten up pretty bad.’

Speaking about her character Gretel and starring alongside Jeremy Renner as Hansel she said: ‘We go hand in hand together as a team.’

She added: ‘I really enjoyed all the action stuff, it was great.’

Gemma also showed off her impressive American accent which left Lauer astonished with how realistic it sounded.

The actors explain that their new film is not for children and Renner said: ‘Don’t take your kids to it.’
