British beauty Gemma Arterton has given a resounding ‘no’ to the chance of stepping into Jenna Coleman’s shoes as The Doctor’s companion.
Rumours are rife in the land of the Whovians that Jenna will be bowing out of the TV series later this year, and while we might not know how accurate said rumours are, one thing we do now know is that Gemma WON’T be replacing her.
Appearing on tomorrow night’s edition of The Graham Norton Show, along with current Timelord Peter Capaldi, Gemma was asked about the possibility of joining the Doctor Who cast.
She offered a rather different answer than most would expect though, saying: ‘I don’t know, I’ve never been asked. But if I did it, I’d like to be an alien or something and not the typical kind of Doctor Who assistant.’
Gemma as an alien? Hmm.
Perhaps she can ask her psychic if a spooky, out-of-this-world alien role is on the cards?
Admitting she’s incredibly superstitious, Gemma added: ‘A psychic once told me she saw me singing on screen. She was almost there. And I often find proper white feathers in bizarre places like a pocket or they fly past me, they are a good omen.’
The Graham Norton Show, BBC One and BBC One HD, 26th September at 10.30pm.
