The San Cristobal castle in old San Juan has been completely transformed into a glamorous nightclub where Ivan Block (Ben Affleck) and Richie Furst (Justin Timberlake) are set to have an important encounter. This scene will be filmed tonight and during the wee hours of Friday.

According to the plot the San Cristobal castle will be an exclusive place frequented by people from different nationalities from the high society, in which the females are distinguished for their physical attributes.

Thousands of lights were installed at the castle to recreate the scene. The view is said to be spectacular. The technical team has been working on it since the weekend.

It is expected that the filming will then move to Las Curias in Cupey on Friday but this is subject to change.

Saturday and Sunday the team will take some time off and will return to film more scenes at the Atlantis building located in Puerta Tierra. They will film at the penthouse of the tower, which is said to be the luxurious apartment where Ivan Block (Affleck) resides. Filming in this place is expected to take place in the afternoon and the evening.

The scenes that were cancelled some weeks ago at Atlantis, where Furst (Timberlake) arrives to Block’s (Affleck) residence are expected to be filmed at a later date in August.

Next week filming locations will also include Miramar, Rio Piedras, Arecibo and the Ceiba airport.

As casting for the sequel to “The Hunger Games”, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” gets underway, the young actors who didn’t make it to the end of the first Games are beginning to make their own odds in Hollywood.

Dayo Okeniyi is the latest tribute to find life after the arena, with THR reporting that the Nigerian actor will be joining the cast of two Hollywood flicks – indie coming-of-age drama “The Spectacular Now” and the gambling drama “Runner Runner” starring Justin Timberlake.

In “The Spectacular Now”, Miles Teller stars as party-hard high school senior Sutter Keely, who has no ambitions beyond high school except to have as much fun as possible. When he wakes up on a random front lawn and meets shy, introverted Aimee – to be played by Shailene Woodley – she begins to turn his world upside down as he does hers. Based on the award winning novel by Tim Tharp, the film will be directed by James Ponsoldt and also stars Brie Larson.

In the Brad Furman-helmed “Runner Runner“, Okeniyi will be joining Timberlake, Ben Affleck, Oliver Cooper, Anthony Mackie and Gemma Arterton as a Princeton PhD student. The film follows two friends (Timberlake and Cooper) who get drawn in to the shadier side of gambling after being hired by Affleck’s billionaire online gambling business owner. Trouble soon comes in the form of Mackie’s FBI agent, who has been tracking Affleck for years. Arterton plays Timberlake’s love interest and filming is already underway in Puerto Rico.

It’s been a little over a year now since we heard that Neil LaBute was set to direct an adaptation of famed mystery writer Agatha Christie’s “Crooked House,” which he would be bringing to life from a script he co-wrote with Academy Award-winning “Gosford Park” writer Julian Fellowes and Tim Rose Price. There was word shortly after that an impressive ensemble of talent in Julie Andrews, Matthew Goode, Gemma Arterton, and Gabriel Byrne would be filling out the plum roles the film had to offer – but it looks as if that may have changed entirely.

THR reports Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has acquired all rights in the U.S., Canada and internationally for the film, which could help secure it a pretty nice release – but it should also be noted the report states that casting is about to gear up in London as the film is set for a fall production start, suggesting that the initial cast lineup may have been tossed aside for now. “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” producers Joe Abrams and Rory Gilmartin of Brilliant Films seem set on turning this adaptation into a similarly lucrative outing – ‘Hotel‘ has quietly done some solid business to the tune of $124 million worldwide – so expect for them to stack up a pretty nice little cast once again, perhaps one with some international flavor that served ‘Hotel‘ so well.

There’s no telling who may return from the initial cast iteration, but regardless, we’re sure this is one we’re going to have to look forward to — even if it’s just for the prospect of Fellowes and LaBute pairing up creatively.

Actress Gemma Arterton had to fight to get a key scene in a new film featuring her and Terence Stamp re-instated after it had been left on the cutting room floor.

She told me that the sequence gave important background about her character, Elizabeth, a teacher and choir mistress for senior citizens, in the movie Song For Marion.

Having now seen the picture, I can attest that every moment Gemma’s on screen is magical, so I can’t comprehend any key scene of hers getting the chop.

Vanessa Redgrave is also in the film, as the eponymous Marion, a member of the choir, called the OAPZ, who has a terminal illness. She’s as sunny as her husband Arthur (played by Stamp) is dour.

Arthur, understandably, is miserable because he fears losing his wife, and matters aren’t helped by the estrangement between him and the couple’s son, played by Christopher Eccleston.

One morning, Marion and Arthur are in bed when Elizabeth and her choir serenade them in the rain with You Are The Sunshine Of My Life. Marion’s delighted but Arthur’s grumpy mood sends them scampering away.

Paul Andrew Williams, who made the celebrated independent picture London To Brighton, invests his film with many such pleasurable cinematic moments. His credo here, embodied by Vanessa’s Marion, seems to be that life will get better if we embrace the moment, and each other.

Williams’s cinematographer, Carlos Catalan, captures the joy that Redgrave’s Marion projects with her eyes and that joy’s infectious, even though we know Marion’s dying.

Marion and Elizabeth rehearse a song, True Colours (a hit for Cyndi Lauper), that Marion will sing as a solo. As she performs you see her eyes searching for Arthur — then you watch how Gemma’s Elizabeth reacts, because she so wants Marion and Arthur to have this important moment.

I felt elated after seeing Song For Marion because it’s always exciting when actors give beautiful performances without over-egging it.

It’s also wonderful to just give yourself to a movie and slowly fall in love with it. I can tell you that this doesn’t happen often. It did, though, with Song For Marion and I want to sing out loud about it.

It’s due to open in January, but you can be sure it will feature in the various autumn film festivals.

Half of Puerto Rico remained without electricity today but that didn’t stop Justin and the production team from having a normal day of work.

They had their own generators to film a series of scenes at the heart of La Perla.

The streets of old San Juan were transformed to recreate a Caribbean party. During the day Justin filmed scenes in which he was wearing all black while walking through the streets.

During the night they are planning to film a scene with musicians and lots of extras outdoors.
