Arterton filmed her first scenes with Justin and Sam Palladio. The actors arrived at 7 am to the Santurce area and started filming at hotel El Boricua.

Arterton, Timberlake and Paladio filmed there until 2 pm.

The hotel was transformed into a Costa Rican brewery to go with the plot of the movie.

After a break the 3 actors proceeded to film other scenes outdoors in several cities near the hotel.

Once finished there the actors headed to film more scenes at a building that was transformed into Hotel del Mar from Costa Rica. They filmed on this location until 8 pm.

On Friday and Saturday the filming of Runner Runner will continue at La Perla located in old San Juan. Ben Affleck will join the filming on July 8. He is expected to arrive with Jennifer Garner and their kids.

Runner Runner started shooting yesterday — Monday — in Piñones, a seaside area of the Puerto Rican capital, filled with thin sand and palm trees typical from the Caribbean scenery.

The press and curious people gathered around Mambo Jambo, the local establishment chosen for the first shots, in the hope of seeing their movie idols, even though security measures prevented them to get closer to the actors.

The movie director chose Puerto Rico to double for Costa Rica, the country where the story takes place.

Besides the beaches, the filming will take place in the old town of San Juan, the Department of State, the National Library and the capital’s airport.

Filming will go on for 1 month and a half.

Gemma Arterton has been cast alongside Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake in New Regency’s online gambling thriller “Runner Runner,” which Fox will distribute.

Timberlake plays a Princeton student cheated out of his tuition money playing online poker who ends up the right-hand man of the site’s corrupt boss (Affleck). Arterton plays Timberlake’s love interest.

Repped by CAA and Independent Talent, Arterton’s upcoming projects include the Par-MGM pic “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters,” the Weinstein Co. release “Song for Marion” and Neil Jordan’s “Byzantium.”

Runner Runner,” helmed by Brad Furman (“The Lincoln Lawyer,” “The Take“), shoots in Puerto Rico from late June.

Producers include Appian Way’s Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Double Feature’s Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher, as well as Brian Koppelman and David Levien.

When filming began for the Hollywood adaptation of the video game The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Rinaldi was working for Oscar and BAFTA award-winning hair and make-up designer Jan Archibald, whose wig company London Wigs was charged with the hair design.

“I did all the wigs for Gemma Arterton, who’s the lead actress in it. She had these really long wigs, which were really hard to get the long hair for.”

With each wig requiring about 50 hours of work, when the movie was finally released in 2010, all Rinaldi could look at was Arterton’s character’s hair. “To see it when you make it and then to see it in the film is quite different. It certainly adds a different dimension to watching a film,” she said.

Rinaldi uses only natural human hair for her wigs, preferring European or Russian hair.

“We don’t use Asian hair that has been stripped and dyed, especially if I’m doing blondes or whites. You can process Asian hair to make it blonde, but the texture is different.”

Gemma Arterton is in talks to join the Jeff Buckley biopic, Mystery White Boy.

The Bafta-nominated actress is considering a role as one of the women in the life of the late rock star, reported the Daily Mail.

British actor Harry Treadaway and Olivia Thirlby are also negotiating for parts in the upcoming drama, which has been adapted by Ryan Jaffe from David Browne’s book Dream Brother: The Lives And Music Of Jeff And Tim Buckley.

Harry – who previously portrayed Joy Division and New Order drummer Steve Morris in Control – is expected to be portraying drummer Matt Johnson, while Juno actress Olivia is tipped to be cast as one of Jeff’s more responsible partners.

Reeve Carney is already on board as the late musician, who drowned accidentally in 1997 at the age of 30.

Jeff’s album Grace and the posthumously released Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk could be featured in Jake Scott’s film, which is expected to shoot in New York and Memphis.

Mystery White Boy is the second film about Jeff Buckley, following Greetings From Tim Buckley, which stars Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley and Imogen Poots.

Last November, GQ France chose their “girls of 2012” and Gemma was one of them.

They called her the “blockbuster sister” and said she was gonna star in a few films I never heard any rumors about Gemma being involved with at some point.

In 2012, she should star in Men in Black 3, The Mummy 4 and the remake of The Black Hole by Walt Disney. Then she’ll make a cinephiliac pause with Waiting for Robert Capa, Michael Mann’s next film. She’d like to work with Darren Aronofsky, Michael Haneke or Lars Von Trier, but she finds it difficult to convince her favourite directors to work with her because she is too “mainstream”. “I only left drama school three years ago so I’m still quite new, but some people might be thinking, ‘Oh no, not her again…”
