I know that many people mistake the date with January 12th. Don’t ask me why!

We already had a confirmation from the lady herself. You can see Gemma talking about her birthday in a handwritten letter over here.

Moreover, Gemma was recently interviewed in Sydney and confirmed that her birthday is indeed on February 2nd.

Miss Arterton was born on February 2, 1986. She’ll be 27 tomorrow!

Shane A. Bassett (SAB) – Hi Gemma, you look fantastic, lovely to meet you, Happy Birthday for this Saturday (Feb 2nd). I’ve just had mine, we are both Aquarius.

Gemma Arterton (GA) – Happy Birthday! (clapping her hands) Thank you; I love Aquarians, you know what, everyone thinks it’s in January, but it’s not. (Source)

A wonderfully heart-warming and funny British film for all ages, in the tradition of ‘Best Exotic Marigold Hotel‘ and ‘The King’s Speech‘, ‘Song For Marion‘ tells the story of how music can inspire.

Terence Stamp delivers a poignant performance, as Arthur, a grumpy pensioner who begrudgingly joins his wife, Marion’s (Vanessa Redgrave) unconventional local choir. Gemma Arterton also stars as choir director Elizabeth, who sees something special in the reluctant Arthur and refuses to give up on him.

Song for Marion is in UK cinemas from 22 February, but you can see it first and for free! HuffPostUK is pleased to give readers the chance to catch a preview screening in your area.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters starring Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton and Famke Janssen just celebrated its opening weekend at the box office by finishing in first place. Paramount and Amazon.com are wasting no time trying to pick up some early sales while the iron is still warm.

Amazon is currently taking pre-orders for the Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray combo pack versions of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, both of which promote the theatrical cut as well as a new unrated cut. Amazon even has the Blu-ray 3D cover art which I have shared below.

A likely home video release date for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is late April to early May. I will pass along updates regarding the release date and all disc information as they come available.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters” cooked up $19 million in its opening weekend.

Paramount’s R-rated action film update on the classic fairytale topped the box office, according to studio estimates Sunday. “Hansel & Gretel” features Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as grown-up renditions of the title characters battling witches with crossbows.

Don Harris, Paramount’s president of distribution, blamed icy weather on the East Coast for the film’s not-so-bewitching debut.

“We got dinged a little bit with the weather on Friday, but overall we’re pleased,” said Harris, who added that “Hansel & Gretel” performed solidly internationally, earning $25 million overseas.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Hollywood.com. Where available, latest international numbers are also included. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.

1. “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters,” $19 million ($25 million international).
2. “Mama,” $12.8 million.
3. “Silver Linings Playbook,” $10 million ($3 million international).
4. “Zero Dark Thirty,” $9.8 million ($3.6 million international).
5. “Parker,” $7 million.
6. “Django Unchained,” $5 million ($42.9 million international).
7. “Movie 43,” $5 million ($2.8 million international).
8. “Gangster Squad,”$4.2 million ($6.8 million international).

Get your cameras ready, because Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton are visiting Australia to host the Australian premiere of their new supernatural action flick Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters. In addition to make this premiere even bigger, both stars will be joined by director Tommy Wirkola and producer Kevin Messick.

The ‘candy coated carnage’ red carpet will take place on Tuesday January 29 from 6pm at Event Cinemas George Street and as usual we suggest you to get there early in order to get the best possible spots.

About the film
After getting a taste for blood as children, Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton) have become the ultimate vigilantes, hell bent on retribution. Now, unbeknownst to them, Hansel and Gretel have become the hunted, and must face an evil far greater than witches…their past.
