Warner Bros Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced last night [February 2] that the studio will release Clash Of The Titans worldwide in 3D on April 2.

The studio has moved back the release date from March 26 and will simultaneously release the action adventure remake in 2D. Sam Worthington stars as the Greek hero Perseus, alongside Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton and Mads Mikkelsen.

Warner Bros announced that later this year it would also release Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 in 3D, as well as Zack Snyder’s Guardians Of Ga’Hoole, and Cats & Dogs: The Revenge Of Kitty Galore.

“We are confident in the constantly evolving 3D technology, and the results for Clash Of The Titans will be presented onscreen with the highest quality images available today,” Warner Bros’ president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman said.

“Based on our track record, we know that audiences are embracing the RealD and IMAX experiences, and we see many opportunities on our film slate to provide moviegoers with these great options at the multiplex.”

Luke Evans stars as Apollo in the 2010 version of Clash of the Titans, a movie he calls “epic.” At the BAFTA/LA Awards Season Tea Party, Evans talked about working on Clash of the Titans and the Stephen Frears film, Tamara Drewe.

Gemma Arterton was mentioned a few times, but the entire interview is worth reading to get to know more about Clash of the Titans!

What else are you working on?

Luke Evans: “I’ve just finished Stephen Frears’ new movie. It’s called Tamara Drewe.”

I’m sure it’s a lot quieter scale.

Luke Evans: “Yes, it was, yeah. And it was modern day and we stayed in Dorset for two months. Gemma Arterton and I play the love interests in the film, and it was beautiful. It was really great. It’s a beautiful place to stay and we had a lovely hotel. Stephen was just, I mean it’s a privilege working with a legend like Stephen Frears, you know?”

So that’s two movies with Gemma right in a row?

Luke Evans: “Yeah.”

Lucky you.

Luke Evans: “Three times we hope. We hope another one’s going to come around the corner.”

Gemma leaving the Garrick Theatre last night, after another performance of The Little Dog Lauhged (UPDATE: Replaced them with bigger versions and added a few more). We’ve also added a behind-the-scenes still of Gemma as Io in Clash of the Titans. Very similar to the one we’ve seen before, but not quite the same. ;)

“Clash of the Titans” hits theaters on March 26, 2010. It will be director Louis Leterrier’s follow-up to the 2008 Marvel Comics flick “The Incredible Hulk” and only his fourth feature as a director (“Transporter 2” and the Jet Li-starring “Unleashed” being the other two). Leterrier has honed his craft quite a bit through the years, and all signs suggest that “Clash” will be his biggest and best effort yet.

That said, there are still a few burning questions that fans want some answers on. The massive success of “Avatar,” which also stars “Clash” lead Sam Worthington, has left many people wondering if the movie will be in 3-D. In fact, Worthington even mentioned the possibility of a 3-D release in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times. There’s also news that emerged earlier this week that British rock group Muse had been asked to score the movie. It’s something they were interested in doing, frontman Matt Bellamy said in an interview with the Daily Star.

In an interview with MTV News earlier today (part of a longer upcoming feature we’ll be posting on Louis’ big year) Leterrier set the record straight at last on the 3-D and soundtrack rumors. Read More

Muse have been invited to write the soundtrack for the upcoming remake of cult sci-fi film Clash Of The Titans, starring Bond babe Gemma Arterton, 23.

Frontman Matt Bellamy, 31, told me: “It’s something we’re up for doing – it’s just a case of timing because we’re always on tour. Clash Of The Titans is the first interesting offer we’ve had for film work.

“We’re definitely interested in writing for films at some point when we get a break from being on the road.”

Since her debut with 007, Gemma Arterton has resisted the starlet trap and opted for surprisingly gritty roles

Gemma Arterton is, in her own words, a freak. “I was born,” says the 23-year-old former Bond girl (Quantum of Solace) and St Trinian’s starlet, casually thrusting forward her hands, “With two extra fingers.” She rubs softly the raised pinkish knuckle scars on the side of both hands and continues, “There were no bones in them, just the fingers and the fingernails.” Arterton, dressed down in denims and black winter woollies, and munching on a rocket and goat’s cheese salad in an East London rehearsal studio, then cocks her head to one side, parts the hair of her trademark bob, and adds, “And I’ve got a crumpled ear, look!” She taps the mildly swollen flesh at the top of her right ear, and sighs, “I was a freakish baby. A bit of an oddball. And I still feel like that now.” Read More
