Entertainment Weekly might have been disappointing Gemma-wise, but UK’s Empire makes up for that. ;) They revealed two new posters for the movie today, one of them being of our stunning Gemma. And they promise more in their September issue. :)

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is one of next year’s big summer movies, so a few new posters showing the lovely Jake Gyllenhaal and the gorgeous Gemma Arterton are just the thing to bring a touch of sunshine to this otherwise cloudy day.

Based on the massively popular series of videogames, the story sees Gyllenhaal as a ‘rogue prince’ Dastan and Gemma Arterton as ‘mysterious princess’ Tamina, who reluctantly team up to safeguard an ancient dagger that could release the Sands of Time, allowing its possessor to reverse time and rule the world.

Also starring Sir Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina, directed by Mike Newell, and out on May 28, 2010, you’ll need to set expectations to “epic” for this one.

Be sure to check out this week’s Entertainment Weekly! It promises an exclusive ‘first look’ at Gemma’s Prince of Persia – read more about it here. No mention of Gemma or her character, but we hope they’ll have something on her too. :)
UPDATE: The article and pic in the issue is the same as on their website – sadly no Gemma at all.

I’ve added DVD screencaptures from the Prince of Persia poster that can be seen during a scene of Confessions of a Shopaholic. It’s when Isla Fisher is riding in a taxi in Times Square and the camera pans over two posters: G-Force and Prince of Persia. The three of them are Bruckheimer productions.

The first footage from Jake Gyllenhaal’s Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time is now available to watch online.

The clip was shown on US TV as part of an ABC film special featuring an interview with producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

In the footage, a muscly Jake Gyllenhaal can be seen training for fight sequences and wooing his love interest played by Gemma Arterton.

Gyllenhaal stars as Dastan, a young prince in sixth century Persia, who must join forces with feisty princess Tamina (Arterton).

The pair must prevent an evil nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its owner to rule the world.

Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, which is directed by Mike Newell, is released in the UK on May 28.

Gemma revealed her demanding role in Tess of the d’Urbervilles ‘unlocked’ her acting passion.

She explained: “I went to drama school for three years and I kind of tried all these different methods and never really felt like I was getting anywhere.

“And then it was actually Tess that unlocked something in me. I became like a crying wreck – I couldn’t stop crying all the time. And then on the next film I did, Prince of Persia (with Jake Gyllenhaal), they kept saying to me, ‘Why are you crying all the time?’ I couldn’t get rid of Tess!”
