With Walt Disney’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time getting released this weekend, a few days ago I got to do a phone interview with the lovely Gemma Arterton. As most of you have seen the trailers and know what the film is about, I’m going to keep this intro brief. But if you’re not familiar, here’s a bunch of clips from the movie with the full synopsis.

During the interview we talked about the challenges of filming in Morocco and what it was like making the movie, and we also talked about her other projects like Tamara Drewe and The Disappearance of Alice Creed. Also, even though Warner Bros. is moving forward with Clash of the Titans 2, she revealed that she’s not yet signed for a sequel so it’s up to her whether or not to come back. Finally, with how much Clash of the Titans changed during filming, I asked what was her reaction to the final product. Hit the jump to read or listen to the interview. Read More

Gemma Arterton may be the talk of Cannes with her starring role in Tamara Drewe, but director Stephen Frears has admitted he had no idea who she was and required her to attend the casting like everybody else.

Arterton plays the lead role in Frears’ charming comedy about a former ugly duckling turned sex kitten who moves into a sleepy Dorset village. Critics have raved about her “smouldering” performance.

But Frears, the British director whose credits include The Queen, High Fidelity and My Beautiful Launderette was clueless about the former Bond girl’s credentials. Read More

British actress Gemma Arterton has made a huge name for herself in a very short amount of time. She first gained attention for her role as MI6 agent Strawberry Fields opposite Daniel Craig’s James Bond in Quantum of Solace. Then, earlier this year she appeared in Clash of the Titans, the extremely successful remake of the classic ’80s mythology film, starring opposite Sam Worthington. Now Arterton can be seen along side Jake Gyllenhaal in the new Jerry Bruckheimer produced film, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which is based on the beloved video game and opens in theaters on May 28th. The film hasn’t even opened in theaters yet and has already spawned rumors of a sequel being in the works. Read More
